Transforming French Headboards into Settees
The women at the In Home Design Center have been getting down and dirty in the workshop, transforming two French headboards made in the Golden Age of French furniture into two antique settees.
We loved the original look of the beautifully carved and gilded headboards, but they were no longer functional as beds because of the headboard size. Once we built the seating frames for the settees, we re-created the original finish of the headboards onto the seating frame by using many layers of paint, stains, and glazes.
All that’s left to do is to pick out an elegant fabric to complement the antique finish!
